1. Introduction

2. Specific Opportunities

We are looking to expand our team by strengthening our provision in the following areas:
 

  • PRIMARY TEACHER

Experienced KS2 teacher required for January 2023 due to the expansion of our Prep department. Wotton House is growing quickly and we are opening a new class for the Spring Term. The role we are advertising for involves both classroom teaching and weekly opportunities for learning outside the classroom. Our students all participate in the John Muir Award and enjoy several residential trips per year. We are looking for an adaptable, committed individual who is willing to go the extra mile to enable our department to continue to flourish both inside and outside of the classroom. You will be committed to delivering the best possible learning outcomes both in person and on-line. You will be familiar with Google Classroom, as well as other Google applications including Google Docs and Google Slides. You will be a smart individual with pride in a smart appearance. You will be a good role model and both expect and demonstrate good manners to the students.

 

What we can offer:

Since opening the Prep in 2020 we have become a designated provider of the John Muir Award, we have been shortlisted for Independent Prep of the Year, won the ISA Junior Poetry Competition, achieved our Silver Green Tree Schools Award from The Woodland Trust, achieved our Bronze Wild Challenge Award from the RSPB, as well as many other achievements. We are a small, experienced and dedicated team. We feel we are really going places, we have small classes and a genuine family feel amongst our school community.

  • ASD Annexe. We still have some exciting opportunities to help grow our specialised provision for children with high-functioning ASD. We are looking to recruit someone with experience of working sensitively in small classes, ideally in a Science subject up to GCSE level. Our provision is located within a fast-growing independent school in Gloucester with outstanding outdoor educational provision and a friendly, family-run ethos. Salary dependent on qualifications and experience.

  • An opportunity to work with the Visual Arts department at Wotton House International School

 

We are looking for an experienced arts teacher to help our year 11 students finish their e-portfolios in Visual Arts. This is the exciting new assessment for the Middle Years Programme of the International Baccalaureate - a fully Ofqual-accredited alternative to GCSEs. 

 

The role would suit someone looking to expand their teaching experience and would be ideal for someone interested in a part-time role for a minimum of the next two terms. Salary dependent on experience and qualifications.​​​​ Start date: January 2023.

3. Residencies

We have had some very successful Artists in Residence and we would like to expand this provision. We provide accommodation, meals, a small financial contribution, and the opportunity to develop your own practice, whether through studio space, workshop space, technology, or administrative assistance. In return we look for involvement with school life. which might involve offering Electives to the students or specific classes, or more general contributions such as to the website or garden. Normally a Residency would be expected to last for a minimum of six months. In particular we would welcome applications from:

  • Garden designers

  • Game designers

  • Writers

  • Actors

  • Entrepreneurs

  • Inventors

  • Food designers

  • Film makers

4. Speculative Opportunities
We are also interested in exploring the possibility of opening a sixth-form provision in the near future and would welcome expertise in this area. Our focus is currently on the IB Career-related Programme which involves a mixture of academic and vocational training. The academic half is taken from the IB Diploma Programme while the vocational half normally involves BTecs.
