Wotton House International School has been granted IB World School status. These are schools that share a common philosophy and a commitment to delivering a high quality, challenging, international education that IVE UK believes is so important for our students.
Like our students, our school is on a journey too, through a changing educational landscape which moves to match societal change and in which teaching methods are coming under constant scrutiny. So we offer a choice of assessment pathways, including the externally verified International GCSE qualifications.
We have also been granted authorisation to offer the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) - see here for more information - and are proud to be one of only 15 schools in the UK to do so.
Only schools authorised by the International Baccalaureate (IB) organisation can offer any of its three academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), or the Diploma Programme (and in addition the IB Career-related Certificate).
The MYP is a highly respected, internationally recognised education programme for children from ages 11-16. It leads naturally to the International Baccalaureate Diploma and Career Programmes for university applications around the world. It is also excellent preparation for A-Level study.
The International Baccalaureate Organisation ensures that the curriculum offered by MYP schools is varied and stimulating, with a rich breadth and depth.
MYP does the following:
promotes integrated conceptual understanding as well as a deep subject knowledge
teaches the research skills necessary for future study
its interdisciplinary approach means students acquire a genuine understanding of the links between subjects
students learn to work independently in preparation for university
it is designed to help children gain a sense of their place in the world and the local community.
